Heavy Explosion In Helmand Kills 14 civilians Injures 5

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Heavy explosion in southern Helmand province killed at least 14 civilians and wounded 5 others, local officials said.

The provincial governor spokesman Omar Zwak said that the attack took place in Marjah district after a car carrying civilian struck with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Saturday morning.

Zwak added women and children were also among the victims.

Afghan police have soon arrived at the scene and shifted the wounded to the hospital.

However, no reports have been given regarding their health conditions.

No group including the Taliban militants has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
