Heavy Casualties in Baghlan Clashes Between Taliban And Afghan Army

afghan_official_759KABUL: (Middle East Press) A number of Taliban militants have reportedly attacked security outposts in northern Baghlan province in which at least five of them were killed and nearly 14 others were wounded, local officials said Wednesday.

The clashes erupted on Tuesday in Dand-e-Ghori area in Pul-e-Khumri city of Baghlan, Provincial Police Chief, Gen. Abdul Jabar Purdely said.

Purdely added that at least two Afghan security forces were also killed and 18 others wounded during the gun battle with the anti-government militants.

“The clashes still continue between the two groups,” according to Purdely.

Purdely has also confirming that the insurgents have seized some parts of Dand-e-Ghori.

The Taliban militants are yet comment in this regard.
