Heads of IEC, IECC Banned from Leaving Country

KABUL (MEP) – Afghan CEO Abdullah Abdullah has imposed travel ban on heads of IEC and IECC amid escalating elections crisis, According to a decree issued by the Office of Chief Executive.

Fazal Ahmad Manawi, one of the prominent members of the Stability and Convergence team led by Abdullah had earlier tweeted that electoral Commissions chiefs had obtained political passports.

Manawi further added that the election commissioners had earlier applied to several embassies to obtain, which were turned down.

Manawi went to say that they have been given political passports to travel to Turkey because they can travel to Turkey without a visa

The leadership of the electoral commissions should be held accountable for the treason they committed, Manawi stated.

Final results of 2019 presidential election announced after nearly five months, accordingly IEC announced Ghani as the president of Afghanistan for a second term.
