Gunmen Shot Dead Five Hazaras in Quetta

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Unidentified attackers killed at least five people belonging to the Hazara community in Quetta the provincial capital of Pakistan’s Baluchistan.

The incident took place in Bacha Khan Chowk area on Sunday evening after gunmen who were riding on two motorbikes opened indiscriminate fire at Hazaras in front of two teashops, said officials.

The officials added that the victims were identified as Mohammad Ali, Kazim, Zeeshan and Nematullah, had died on the spot while there was one injured who was rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta for medical treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation has been launched into the incident but the attackers fled the area, the investigators are trying to find the armed men.

In the past few days, more than half-a-dozen Hazara community were also gunned down in Quetta.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack. He has ordered security agencies to arrest those behind the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility following the attack.
