Gunmen Open Fire on Worshippers in Khost, Killing 3

KABUL (MEP) – Unidentified gunmen opened fire on worshippers attending Ramadan night (Tarawih) prayers in the Sabri district of eastern Khost province.

Khost Police spokesman, Adil Haidar said unidentified armed attackers fired on worshipers in the village of Gurchak in Sabri district at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

He said three worshipers were killed and one child was injured in the attack.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

In another similar incident, gunmen stormed a mosque during night prayers in Khalazai village in Parwan’s capital city of Charikar, killing eight worshipers and injuring five others.

Armed attacks on worshipers have increased during the holy month of Ramadan this year, and the motives of the attackers have not been determined yet.
