The German Foreign Minister, following his trip to the Middle East, arrived in Tehran capital of Iran.

According to the Middle East Press International News, Haiku Maas, arrived in Tehran on a one-day visit today and will meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Germany mediation on Tahran-Washington tensions is said to be among the main plans of Mr. Maas trip to Iran.

He previously traveled to Iraq, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, talking to their senior officials about Iran nuclear deal and to ease US-Iran tensions.

Meanwhile, in recent weeks, a number of countries have pushed diplomatic efforts to mediate tension between Iran and the United States.

Therefore, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will soon be heading to Tehran, as the first trip of a Japanese PM to Iran after the 1979 revolution.
