General Dostum In Sar-e-Pul Province To Repel Taliban

dostumKABUL: (Middle East Press) General Abdul Rashid Dostum, First Vice-President traveled to Sar-e-Pul province to eliminate the Taliban and clear the areas, on Thursday.

Brigadier General Mohammad Asif Jabarkhel, Provincial police chief of Sar-e-Pul province told “Middleeastpress” that more than a thousand soldiers are accompanying Dostum and they are expected to start operations from Kohestanat district.

Jabarkhel said the progress of the security forces in Kohestanat district was slightly delayed due to the presence of First Vice President and this process will be conducted in the presence of Gen. Dostum to capture the building of the district.

He added, the presence of Dostum is an effective concern to eliminate the anti-government militants in the province.

Jabarkhel stated that Dostum will speak with the Taliban militants to invite them join peace process with the National Government.

It comes as the building of the Kohestanat district of Sar-e-Pol province is currently under the control of Taliban insurgents and the security forces are provoking to retake the building.
