A new thin solar panel roadway surface called ‘’Wattaway’’ is able to transform solar energy into electricity.
The panel is made of special silicon which gives the vehicle more traction.
The increased traction could scale down the number of accidents on the new road surface.
Every 20 square meters of the tiles provide enough energy to power an average French home. The panels can be installed on the existing roadways. The heavy-duty slates are waterproof and resistant to snowplowing.
