Four Civilians Killed, Six Wounded In Balkh Explosion

Balkh province-Middle East PressMEP: As a result of a roadside bomb explosion in the center of Khulm district of Balkh province, four civilians were killed and six others injured and Balkh representative in parliament, survived.

Sher Jan Durani, spokesman for Balkh police chief told the Middle East Press the incident took place at around 10:00 am on Thursday morning in Chahar Daryaye area of That Taq mosque.

He said the target of the explosion was to hit the vehicle of Asadullah Sharifi, Balkh representative in the House of Representatives, in which four civilians were killed and six others  wounded.

According to Durani, police started investigation in this regard and Sharifi escaped the attack unharmed.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.

The explosion in Balkh province comes as yesterday evening, three bombers attacked the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) in Kabul and as a result, 13 people, including students and security forces were killed and 44 others were wounded.
