Flood kills 20 People in Kandahar

In recent floods in several districts of Kandahar, 20 people, including children, have been died.

According to the Middle East Press, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that flooding in Dand, Daman, Arghandab, Spin Boldak, Jiri and Takhta-pul districts of Kandahar province killed 20 people, including children and 10 others are missing.

According to the OCHA Office, in these districts over the past 30 hours, more than 97 mm of rain has plummeted and caused strong flooding, in which about 2,000 homes have been destroyed.

According to the statement, flood victims have taken refuge in schools and mosques, and there are still about 500 Kuchi families in the floods in Arghandab district that need emergency helps.

This year’s rainfall has been described unprecedented in various provinces, and the Meteorology Office has warned of flooding in many provinces over the coming days.
