First Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Afghanistan’s Herat 

KABUL (MEP) – The Ministry of Public Health confirms that a positive coronavirus COVID-19 case has been identified in Herat province.

The minister of public health, Ferozuddin Feroz at a press conference today Monday, February 24, declared a state of emergency in the western province of Herat, which borders Iran.

He said all preparations were made to stop the outbreak of the virus in Herat and that the health status of the infected person was getting worse.

The minister of public affairs urged Herat residents to refrain from traveling to other provinces.
