Explosions and Bombings Kill Over 20 and Injure Dozens across Iraq

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 18 people have been killed and over four dozen others wounded in separate bomb explosions across the capital of Iraq, Baghdad, police and medical officials said.

The officials, requested anonymity, said the deadliest of the Tuesday attacks took place on Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad, when a vehicle equipped with explosives exploded near restaurants and shops, leaving 10 people dead, including three women and injuring 24 people.

Earlier in the day, three Iraqi soldiers and one civilian lost their lives when a roadside bomb struck an army patrol in the township of Yusufiyah, located about 32 kilometers (20 miles) south of Baghdad. At least eight people wounded in the attack.

Separately, two civilians were killed and four others injured, when a blast ripped through a commercial street in the capital’s southern Seyyediah neighborhood.

A bomb also went off near an outdoor market in al-A’amiriya neighborhood of western Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding 11 others.

Moreover, one person was killed and six others injured as a bomb explosion occurred near a video gaming center in the city of Madain, southeast of Baghdad.

No group claimed responsibility behind the attacks, however such incidents mostly blamed on ISIL Takfiri militants.
