Explosion Kills one, injures two in Yemen

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Following five bomb blast at least one member of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has been killed and two others are injured in the center of the capital, Sana’a.

According to reports, the explosions took place in the old quarter of the Yemeni capital, mostly controlled by Shia Houthi Ansarullah movement, early on Tuesday.

The first explosion occurred in Bustan al-Sultan neighborhood when a member of the Ansarullah movement was trying to take apart a bomb discovered underneath the car of a judge.

According to the medics, he died in hospital.

Another four bombs planted in garbage containers in the same neighborhood went off within short intervals.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombings, but the al-Qaeda group in Yemen has threatened Houthis with such acts of violence.

Yemen’s central government has so far failed to confront the terrorist threat. Ansarullah fighters, however, have intervened to fill the vacuum and have driven al-Qaeda militants out of many areas in the country.
