Efforts Underway to Form High Reconciliation Council

KABUL (MEP) –The State Ministry for Peace reports efforts are ongoing to form a High Reconciliation Council.

A spokeswoman for the State Ministry for Peace, Najia Anwari says that any remarks about members of the council would be irresponsible.

“The State Ministry for Peace works on High Reconciliation Council affairs,” SMP spokeswoman Najia Anwary wrote in a Tweet on Thursday, April 2. “Any information related to the Afghan Peace Process will be formally shared with the people without any delay.”

“The publication of speculation about membership in HRC structure is irresponsible,” she added.

The State Ministry for Peace recent statement comes as a number of political leaders, including former President Hamid Karzai, Inclusive Govt President Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq, Karim Khalili and Batur Dostum gathered at Hekmatyar`s residence and discussed peace issues.

However, ex-president Hamid Karzai and jihadi leader Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, have already begun efforts to resolve electoral crisis between Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
