Efforts To Remove Key Taliban Figures From The Blacklist

MEP: Representatives from Russia, China and Pakistan say efforts began to exit the key figures of armed Taliban from the blacklist and expressed concern over the presence and activities of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group Afghanistan.

The Afghan peace talks was held yesterday without the presence of representatives of Afghanistan in Moscow.

Representatives from Russia, China and Pakistan in the negotiations to achieve peace in Afghanistan decided to start removing some of the key figures of the armed Taliban from sanctions list.

“Participants in the talks are deeply concerned regarding the presence and activities of Daesh terrorists in Afghanistan,” Russian media quoted Maria Zakharova, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman as saying.

The influence of the terror group in Afghanistan is increasing and the security situation in the country is worsening, she said.

Ms Zakharova added that Moscow participants in the talks have agreed that the country will be invited to the next meetings.

The report comes as earlier the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had expressed concern on holding of the meeting without representative of Afghanistan and the parliament called it “Moscow’s intervention in Afghanistan’s affairs.”
