Dostum Continues Massive Counter-Terrorism Operations In Northern Country
KABUL: (MEP) General Abdul Rashid Dostum, Vice President has launched massive anti-rebel operations in Khwaja Sabz Posh district of northern Faryab province.Gen
First Vice-President’s Office press secretary said the operation has been intensified since yesterday February 26, 2016.
According to the statement, areas such as Kala Kalan, Anwar Abad and twenty other villages have been cleared of insurgents during the operations.
The statement adds that seven shell armed opposition and some weapons were also seized in the operations by security forces.
“More than a hundred militants also surrendered to the government and joint peace process” the statement noted.
It is worth mentioning that the operation will continue until the fully complete cleansing of Khwaja Sabz Posh district.
Recent insecurity in the northern provinces of the country has led Gen. Dostum to Jawzjan province.
