Deputy Shadow Governor of Taliban Arrested in Capital Kabul
KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to the Afghan intelligence, the shadow deputy governor of Taliban in Balkh province has been arrested on Wednesday in Capital Kabul.
National Directorate of Security issued a statement saying the detainee was identified as Mawlawi Rustam, who intended to go to Quetta in Pakistan for financial and military aid.
The statement added that Rustam has confessed that he was cooperating with the Taliban group during the past eight months.
Mawlawi Rustam was appointed for the post by Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor.
According to the statement, Rustam was arrested following a special operation carried out by the afghan intelligence.
Taliban group has not made comment regarding the report so far.
