Daud Khan’s Mausoleum To Construct

533e61481b1a1KABUL: (MEP) With the creation of the commission by President Ashraf Ghani, orders were formed to build Mohammad Daud Khan’s tomb, the late president of Afghanistan.

A statement by Presidential Palace said that Daud Khan’s mausoleum is located on Taj Big hill.

According to the statement, the order of the creation of the commission after meeting of President Ghani with Mohammad Nadir Naeem, elders and the heads of Kandahar was issued.

“In addition to the cost to build the mausoleum that will be allocated by the government, an amount of 20 thousand dollars of my own money would spend to boost consumption.” Ghani said during the meeting that was held yesterday.

Ghani added that in the purpose of the rest of the construction of the mausoleum of the late president and members of his family, a Trust Fund will be created.

He said the representatives of the security institutions will also be part of the committee members for the design, planning and construction of the mausoleum.

Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan born on 18 July 1909 in Kabul Afghanistan became the first President of Afghanistan after overthrowing the monarchy of his first cousin Mohammed Zahir Shah and declared himself as the first President of Afghanistan from 1973 until his assassination in 1978 as a result of the Saur Revolution led by the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA).
