Clashes In ‘Imam Sahib District Of Kunduz’, Follow Heavy Casualties
MEP: Clashes between security forces and armed Taliban in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz started on Thursday, caused heavy casualties on both sides.
Imam-u-deen Quraishi, district governor said the armed Taliban have stepped up their attacks on parts of the district that since three days onward, 15 Taliban were killed and 25 others wounded.
Quraishi said added among the victims five security forces were also killed and wounded.
“The Taliban have been able to seize the Imam Sahib district” he further added.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said nine members of the security forces were killed in conflict.
However, the claim has been rejected by local officials in Kunduz.
Clashes between security forces and the armed Taliban in Qala-e- Zal district of Kunduz province also continue but the security officials did not detail on casualties yet.
