Casualties Toll From Kabul Bombings Climbs To 32 Dead, 79 Injured

MEP-Kabul suicide bombingsMEP: The Ministry of Interior announced Friday the casualties toll of the powerful suicide bombings in capital Kabul has reached to 32 dead and 79 injured.

The bombings took place at around 12:00PM Thursday when two suicide bombers as one of them detonated his explosives near the convoy of the vehicles of Afghan soldiers and the second bomber rammed a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) into the same convoy, minutes after the first blast, a statement by the Ministry said.

The blasts left at least 32 police cadets and one civilian dead while 79 police cadets were wounded, the statement added.

President Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdullah Abdullah have strongly condemned the attacks calling it “Inhuman act”.

However, the Minister ordered the creation of a special commission to investigate the circumstances of the attacks and assistance to the families of martyrs and injured.

Under the guidance of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Commission has a duty to investigate the attacks with seriousness and offer its full details at the Ministry.

The responsibility of deadly explosions were claimed by armed Taliban.
