Car Explosion Kills 3, Injures 8 in Baghdad

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least three civilians have lost their lives eight others were wounded and in a bomb explosion in a residential area of Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, said security officials in Iraq.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the attack took place on Tuesday, after an explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a mosque in Arasat al-Hindiya district of Baghdad, Iraq’s Arabic-language al-Forat news agency reported.

The security forces have immediately rushed at the scene and the injured were shifted by ambulances to the nearby hospitals for treatment.

According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), a total of 812 Iraqis have been killed and another 1,726 have been injured following acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict within last month.

Northern and western parts of Iraq have been in chaos since ISIL started its campaign of terror in early June 2014.

The terrorists are in control of the second-largest city of Mosul and they have swept through parts of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.
