Bus-train Crash Kills and Injures over 38 in Mexico

KABUL: (Middle East Press) An official said that over 16 people were killed and 22 injured after a passenger bus and a freight train collided at a grade crossing in northern Mexico.

According to official, the accident took place in the town of Anahuac in Tamaulipas state, near the US city of Laredo, Texas, on Friday.

The train’s operator, Kansas City Southern de Mexico, first reported a terrible accident between one of its trains and a passenger bus. However, the company failed to give a cause for the crash.

Road accidents are one of the main causes of death in Mexico. Around four million traffic accidents occur in Mexico that claim around 24,000 lives a year.
