Bimillah Atash, a member of Provincial Council of Baghlan province, said the situation can be further deteriorated if reinforcement soldiers were not send to the area.
The security officials, however, are yet to comment on the fall of the security post.
The collapse of the post comes after intensive clashes broke out two weeks ago in the district when the militants carried out a coordinated attack on the security posts.
The Taliban militants have rapidly increased their insurgency activities in various districts and provinces of Afghanistan over the past 2 months.
