Azerbaijani Plane Crashed In Helmand, Killing All Crew Members

Azerbaijani PlaneMEP: At least seven crew members of an Azerbaijani cargo plane were killed and two others injured after it crashed in Helmand’s airport.

Omar Zwak, spokesman for the governor of Helmand told Middle East News Agency the incident occurred Wednesday evening in Dwyer airport.

According to Zwak, the cause of the crash is unknown, but it’s said that the aircraft went off after the emergency landing.

“The exact figure of the casualties is yet to be determined” Zwak said adding that the aircraft was transferring the foreign goods.

Helmand governor’s spokesman said investigations started in connection to the incident.

However, it is said that the ‘Antonov 12’ cargo is related to “Selk Wael” of Azerbaijani company with 9 crew on board that seven of them were killed and two others were injured.

The dead included 5 citizens of Azerbaijan, a citizen of Uzbekistan and a citizen of Ukraine.
