Army General Along with 2 others arrested on Drugs in Baghlan

80B4A2BB-C354-4161-BF98-A5DE8A44BC8C_mw1024_s_nKABUL: (Middle East Press) A military general officer along with two other soldiers have been arrested over drugs trafficking in northern Baghlan province, Counternarcotic police said on Tuesday.

Deputy police Chief of Baghlan, Colonel. Abdul Rashid Bashir said that the criminal Brigadier General Abdul Samad Habib had placed the drugs in a military vehicle when police caught him.

Bashir added that the drugs were being smuggled from northeastern Badakhshan province to Kabul adding that the anti-drug police seized the narcotics during a cordon in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital.

Meanwhile, Colonel Nizamuddin Nizam, Counternarcotic official said a military recruitment commander in northern Balkh province, Abdul Samad, had been arrested along with two soldiers in connection with smuggling the drugs.

He added that the Army General had concealed 19 kilograms of heroin in a military vehicle and was trying it to transfer it to eastern Nangarhar province
