Armed Taliban, Supporter Of National Projects Or Military Attacks Extender

MEP: A day after the armed Taliban said would support the Afghan national projects and will protect it, claimed responsibility for a military helicopter crash in western Badghis province.

Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman released a statement saying they have targeted the helicopter carrying the commander of 207 Zafar Corps.

The statement adds that the helicopter was targeted in the area of Mori Chaq of Murghab district by armed Taliban, as a result, General Muhidden Ghori and a number of key government people have been killed.

According to the statement, the Afghan National Army helicopters flew four times to the scene after the transfer of soldiers, was transferring the high-ranking military and government officials for the last time, which was targeted.

However, the Afghan Defense Ministry announced the helicopter crashed due to a technical problem.

This comes as on Monday the armed Taliban had declared that the group supports all the national projects that’s beneficial for Afghanistan and will protect it.

Parliament calls for further investigation

A number of MPs have called for further investigation into the cause of the helicopter crash.

Ghulam Farooq Majroh, the representative of the people of Herat today in parliament said the incident should be investigated fully and comprehensively.

Meanwhile, Arif Rahmani, MP from Ghazni in the House stated that conspiracy or negligence in the crash of helicopter should be determined.

The helipcopter of General Muhidden Ghori was collapsed on Tuesday evening in which he along with the head of Baghdis national security and provincial council lost their lives.
