KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces have launched fresh military operations across the country in which at least 70 Taliban militants were killed and 10 others wounded in the past 48 hours, Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense states that at least 10 Afghan soldiers have also been killed in insurgent fire and landmine explosions.

The statement added that the operations were conducted in Kapisa, Paktika, Urozgan, Badakhshan, Helmand, Faryab, Herat and Nangarhar provinces.

According to the statement, a number of heavy and light weapons were also seized by Afghan security forces during these operations.
