KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces launched fresh military operations across the country in which at least 46 Taliban militants were killed and 36 others wounded, Ministry of Defense announced Wednesday morning.

Defense Ministry issued a statement states that at least eight Afghan soldiers have also killed in insurgent fire and landmine blasts in past 24 hours. However, the exact location of the incidents is not detailed.

The statement added that the operations were conducted in Kunar, Kapisa, Khost, Ghazni, Kandahar, Zabul, Urozgan, Badakhshan, Balkh, Kundoz, Helmand and Faryab provinces.

Afghan security forces have also confiscated a number of weapons and ammunition during the operations, according to the statement.
