The US President Donald Trump said he wants to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan but is concerned that without an American military presence, the country could be used as a ‘lab for terrorists.

In an interview on Fox News broadcast on Monday, Trump said is planning to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

He recounted conversations he had with U.S. military officials, they warned him it would be better to fight terrorists in Afghanistan than at home.

President Donald Trump said he wants to pull 9000 U.S. troops out of Afghanistan but is concerned that without an American military presence, the country could become a ‘lab for terrorists.

Even if the United States did remove its troops, Trump said, it would leave a “very strong intelligence” presence in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the seventh round of US talks with Taliban delegates in Qatar is currently under way, and a timetable for determining the withdrawal table for US troops from Afghanistan is one of the key issues in this round of talks.
