“Our goal is to make Afghanistan a self-reliant country in the agriculture sector, particularly in the production wheat, in the next five years; however, for now we need to meet the local demand for wheat by purchasing it at a reasonable price,” said President Ghani.
President Ghani led a high-level government delegation left for Astana, Kazakhstan on Thursday November 19th, to discuss economic and political cooperation between the two nations.
The two parties signed three agreements and four memorandum of understandings concerning various sectors.
Kazakhstan has provided USD 20mn in aid to Afghanistan till date and has spent USD 50mn towards education of young Afghans who are currently completing their higher education in Kazakhstan.
