The Iranian deputy oil minister reiterated that nothing is preventing export of Iran’s gas to Afghanistan.

The 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, attended by 4,500 national and international companies, started work in the Iranian capital on May 6 for four days.

In relevant remarks in early April, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Spokesman Seyamuddin Pesarlai underlined that Iran has turned into his country’s biggest trade partner.

“Iran is now Afghanistan’s biggest trade partner with trade exchanges between the two countries hitting $1.8 billion,” Pesarlai said.

The senior Afghan trade official underlined that 80 percent of the transactions relates to imports from Iran and the rest is related to the export to the country.
