Afghan Soldiers Killed Top Taliban Leader in Kunduz Operation

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan security forces killed top Taliban leader along with his 27 men injured following a military operation in northern Kunduz province.

Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said the operation was conducted late on Monday night in Imam Sahib District.

According to Sediqi, the Taliban leader was identified as Mullah Mustafa.

The death of Mullah Mustafa is considered a major shock to the militant group who are currently engaged in a fierce gun battle with the Afghan security forces in a number of districts of Kunduz province.

The militant groups are yet to comment regarding the report.
