A statement issued by the ministry states that the operations were conducted jointly by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security in Takhar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Khost, Paktika, Herat, Ghor and Helmand provinces in past 24 hours.
The statement adds that at least 24 insurgents wounded and 10 others detained during the operations.
Afghan forces have also seized some light and heavy arms in these operations but a specific number of these weapons was not detailed.
