Afghan Parliament Approves ‘Taj Mohammad Jahid’ As New Interior Minister
KABUL: (MEP) The Afghan Parliament on Saturday approved General Taj Mohammad Jahid, a former army commander, as the new Minister of Interior in the voting process.
Jahid received 190 votes of confidence in the parliament from the 225-member strong session to become interior minister.
Emphasizing on the reform of the National Police, Jahid said “with all the terrorists and insurgents that would disturb public order, will be faced legal action.”
Serious fight against drugs and corruption are among the other major programs Jahid has planned.
Jahid was nominated for the post following the resignation of Noor-ul-Haq Ulomi who stepped down from his post in February.
