Afghan Parliament Approves ‘Mohammad Farid Hamidi’ As Attorney General

Mohammad Farid HamidiKABUL: (MEP) The Afghan Parliament, meanwhile approved Mohammad Farid Hamidi the former Human Rights Commissioner, as Attorney General with the total votes of 200 in his favor out of 225.

His appointment as Attorney General comes as presidential special envoy for good governance Ahmad Zia Massoud insisted on the vital role of fight against corruption during a gathering in capital Kabul last week.

Hamidi emphasized on expanding the salaries of Attorney General Employees and stated that the number of employees due to their hard work in remote areas, do not receive adequate remuneration.

He also insisted on fighting corruption and said, “The biggest victims of corruption is justice that it is duty is on the Attorney General.”

Hamidi said the illegal prison in the country should be terminated.
