Afghan National Among Two Injured In Peshawar Blast

KABUL: (MEP) An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated in the Phandu Road area in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar within Chamkani police station limits on Sunday morning leaving at least three people wounded. 

Qari Salahuddin, his driver and a passenger were wounded when an IED went off as their vehicle passed by it, Deputy Supervisor Police (DSP) Khalid said. The three injured have been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Qari Salahuddin is an Afghan national who taught at a seminary in the neighbourhood, the DSP said. Television footage showed a badly damaged car at the site of the explosion, which has now been cordoned off.

No group claimed responsibility behind the blast yet.
