KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) issued a statement Saturday, states at least fourteen insurgents have been killed and eight others wounded following Afghan military operations in past 24 hours.

The statement was issued by the Ministry of Interior saying the operations were conducted in Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Kunar, Farah, Baghlan and Khost provinces.

The statement added that the operations were jointly carried out by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and Afghan Security Forces.

Afghan Police have also arrested four militants during the operations as well as defusing six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Zabul, Logar, Paktya and Baghlan province, according to the statement.

Fortunately no afghan police or security forces were hurt in the operations.
