Afghan Forces Launched Military Operations to Retake Jawand District

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National security forces have launched a military operation in Jawand district western Badghis to retake control of the district after militants attacked the area Saturday night, officials reported.

The operation will continue until Taliban militants setback, said Taj Mohammad Jahid, military commander of 207th Zafar corps.

Jawand District has been occupied by Taliban at about 02:00am local time on Saturday night. on Saturday night. Its governor, police chief and other officials took shelter in a nearby village.
