Administrative Board Formation, Serious Problem of Loya Jirga
The participants of Consultative Loya Jirga did not accept the appointed deputies and called for an administrative board based on views and votes of the Jirga delegates.
According to Middle East Press; the 3200-member Peace Consultative Loya Jirga formally launched yesterday and Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf was appointed as the chairman of the Jirga by the president.
On the afternoon of the first day of the Peace Jirga, Head of Jirga Holding Commission, Umar Daudzai, appointed Habiba Sarabi, Abdul Rauf Ebrahimi, Abdul Rauf Enaami, Abdul Hadi Muslimyar as deputies of Peace Jirga which was addressed by the participants.
Members of the Jirga believe that they would only accept the appointment of the chairman and the prior nominated deputies are not acceptable so they must be elected by delegates.
A number of Peace Jirga delegates believe that the individuals nominated for the administrative board are those who came from the government and have no achievement in peace in recent years.
So, the Peace Jirga delegates emphasize on an administrative board selected by the participants` votes and have said that there should be people on board who work for peace.
The criticisms and disagreements of the Jirga’s participants led to the conclusion of the first day of the Loya Jirga without a definite achievement and today (Tuesday, April 30) they will decide on the appointment of administrative board.
Failure to the appointment of the administrative board will make the committees unable to submit their work reports, because according to the plan, the committees should submit their report to the administrative board.
