A School Girl Hangs Herself in Jawzjan
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A young school girl who was in class 7 has reportedly hanged herself in northern Jawzjan province, local officials said Thursday.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon according to Abduhafiz Khashi, a Jawzjan security official, adding that her age was not detailed.
Motive behind her suicide is unclear so far, said Khashi.
The incident comes after an earlier suicide by a young girl who reportedly hanged herself over not getting a new dress to wear to a relative’s wedding party.
Meanwhile, Khashi adds that at least five women were reported to have lost their lives due to domestic violence in the province so far this year.
