8 Dead, Injured following Rocket Attack in Wardak Province

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A rocket attack on a volleyball game in Wardak province left at least three people dead and five others injured.

The incident took place late on Saturday in Nerkh district, local officials said.

A statement issued by the provincial government media office saying the rocket landed in a play ground in Omar Khel area.

The statement added that the health condition of four injured individuals is acceptable while the fifth injured one is in a grave condition.

No group including the Taliban militants has claimed responsibility behind the incident so far.

This comes as at least 45 people were killed following a suicide attack which targeted a volleyball game in eastern Paktika province late last month.
