7 Local Army Soldiers Killed in Parwan

KABUL (MEP) – At least seven local army soldiers have been killed in an armed Taliban attack on a security checkpoint in Siagard district of Parwan province.

The attack took place Wednesday night on a security checkpoint in Anten village in Siagard district.

A spokeswoman for Parwan’s governor, Wahida Shahkar, said seven local army soldiers had been killed and another wounded in the attack.

He said the Taliban had fled the area suffering casualties after supporting forces arrived.

The armed Taliban have not yet commented.

However, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a post on Twitter that no attack had been carried out by them.
