KABUL (MEP) — As a result of armed Taliban ambush in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province, six local army soldiers were killed and three local police soldiers were injured.
A newsletter by Media Office of Ghazni province released today Monday, September 02, say that the event occurred last midnight in Khonyan area of Qarabagh district.
Local army and police soldiers patrolling across the district, were ambushed by the Taliban, newsletter added.
In accordance to the newsletter, six local army soldiers were killed and three local police were wounded in the incident.
The source said there were casualties to the armed Taliban but did not provide exact statistics.
Armed Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a Tweet that their fighters attacked a local security post, killing and wounding several soldiers.
