6 Kidnapped Reporters Released in Paktia

KABUL (MEP) — Six journalists who were abducted by the Taliban released after two days, said Paktia provincial authorities.

Paktia governor spokesman Abdullah Hasrat told MEP that the local reporters were released this morning Sunday, September 08.

The reporters were kept in Zermatt city, he said.

Hassrat further said he could not give information on their health because he had not seen reporters so far.

The reporters were kidnapped on Friday evening from Zermatt, Paktia’s capital, and the Taliban said they were mistakenly captured by the group members.

But a spokesman for Paktia governor denies the Taliban’s mistake in capturing these reporters.
