KABUL: (Middle East Press) A group of five men have raped a pregnant woman in northern Jawzjan province, said local officials on Monday.
According to provincial police Chief Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, the incident took place in Shebarghan city of Jawzjan two days ago.
Jawzjani said that two of the convict have been arrested and are currently in police custody under further questioning.
The victim called on the relevant security and judiciary institutions to take an immediate action towards the perpetrators and warned that she would commit suicide if the authorities remained inattentive.
Meanwhile, the families of the victim have said that the men had initially tortured her and a number of her teeth have been broken after she was beaten.
