5 Children Killed in Faryab Mine Explosion

KABUL (MEP) – A roadside bomb rocked Pashtun Kot district of Faryab province, killing five young children and injuring one.

The incident happened earlier today Sunday, October 27, in the village of Gadai Qala in Pashtunkot district when children were playing.

Faryab police spokesman Karim Yuresh told MEP that the blast killed five children, ages 8 to 16, and injured one.

He said the mine had been placed by the armed Taliban to target the convoy of foreign troops.

The armed Taliban have not commented so far.
