47 Ammunition Seized in Capital Kabul

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 47 weapons and ammunition were confiscated by the Afghan intelligence operatives that were imported from Peshawar Pakistan, during an operation in Capital Kabul city.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Tuesday that the weapons were imported from Peshawar to Kabul city through Nangarhar province.

A statement issued by NDS stating at least three suspected militants who were involved in the smuggling of weapons and ammunition were arrested by the intelligence operatives.

The detained individuals have confessed that the weapons and ammunition were purchased from a weapon manufacturing company.

The statement further added that the smugglers were looking to sell the weapons to insurgent groups who are looking to carry out coordinated attacks across Kabul city and other provinces of the country.
