44 Militants Killed in Pakistani Air Strikes

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 44 militants have been killed after the Pakistani military have conducted air strikes against militant positions in northwestern Pakistan’s tribal region close to the border with Afghanistan.

The airstrikes were launched in two separate militancy-riddled regions across the country’s troubled northwest on Saturday, The Pakistani Army said following a statement.

One of the air strikes carried out in Khyber district’s Tirah Valley in which at least 28 militants were killed, while a series of airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 16 militants in North Waziristan tribal district, the statement added.

The militants’ hideouts and ammunition depots across the troubled areas were also destroyed by Pakistani Air Force jets, according to sources.
