4 car explosions in Maroof district of Qandahar
Armed Taliban carried out four suicide attacks in the Maroof district of Kandahar province using HMMWV vehicles.
The attacks took place today morning (Sunday, June 30) in the center of Maroof district, Qandahar Governor`s spokesman Aziz Ahmad Azizi told Middle East Press.
According to him, a number of soldiers and civilians were killed and injured in the bombings, but due to lack of communication and transmission, the exact figures are not available.
Azizi stated that the aid team was deployed to the site and after the investigation, the number of casualties will be determined.
Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz Ebrahimi, deputy spokesman for the electoral commission in an interview with the Middle East, has confirmed the deaths of eight district employees in the Maroof district blasts.
Taliban has said three ANA bases were seized in the Maroof district of Kandahar, and during the HMMWV blasts and clashes, a number of security forces were killed and injured.
The source has also confirmed the wounding of three armed Taliban members.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense has rejected the fall of the Maroof district.
