4 Afghan army soldiers abducted By Taliban in Kunduz

Rendering some local authorities in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan, the Taliban fighters have captured at least four Afghan national army (ANA) soldiers in this province.

The officials further added that the incident took place in Khanabad district late Wednesday.

Khanabad district governor Hayatyllah Amiri confirming the report said Taliban militants kidnapped four Afghan national army (ANA) soldiers in Chahar Toot area late Wednesday afternoon.

Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident. Kunduz is among the peaceful provinces in northern Afghanistan; however, Taliban militants have recently increased their insurgency activities in this province, Khaama reported.

Insurgents frequently target Afghan govenment officials and carry roadside bombings in various districts of Kunduz province, including central Kunduz city.

An intelligence official was shot dead by unknown gunmen in this province early Monday morning. The incident took place around 7 am local time in Chahar Dara district after unknown gunmen opened fire on district intelligence — national diretorate of security (NDS) administrator Ghulam Hussain.

Ghulam Hussain was the second government official assassinated by unknown gunmen in northern Kunduz province in less than a week.

Unknown gunmen assassinated independent election commission (IEC) chief for northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan, Eng. Amaullah Aman last Wednesday.
